Torbay Steam Fair is the second largest outside event in Devon after the Devon County Show and the last 2 years has had record attendance, especially as the Dorset Steam Fair and several others have been cancelled.
It is a fantastic weekend with lots of things to see and do for the whole family. Aside from the full size steam engines with working demonstrations, there are miniature engines, vintage cars and motorcycles, commercial & military vehicles, tractors and stationary engines.
Aside from that there are models, crafts and trade stands. There are vintage fairground rides, outside displays and and a full children’s entertainment programme. There are also numerous catering outlets serving all manner of food hot and cold drinks. Camping facilities are also available.
There is also a large entertainment marquee with a fully stocked bar serving real ales and in the evenings of Thursday, Friday and Saturday there is live music and a disco!
Also on Saturday night there is the showman’s evening light up where the large steam engines line up out side the beer tent with all there lights on. It is pretty spectacular!!
