TK Maxx presents Southampton Summer Sessions brought Britpop brilliance to Guildhall Square on Friday 27 June, as indie icons Ocean Colour Scene delivered a powerful headline set, joined by special guests Cast and Echobelly.
Highlights included:
-
Echobelly opened the evening with an energising set packed with 90s bangers, including Great Things, King of the Kerb, and Insomniac. Vocalist Sonya Madan’s presence lit up the stage as early fans soaked up the nostalgia.
-
Cast followed with a feel-good run of hits including Finetime, Walkaway, and Alright. Their melodic hooks and singalong choruses had the crowd swaying and smiling under the summer sky.
-
Ocean Colour Scene brought the night to a euphoric close with a storming set of fan favourites like The Riverboat Song, The Day We Caught the Train, and Hundred Mile High City. With the crowd in full voice, Guildhall Square was transformed into an outdoor gig reminiscent of the golden age of Britpop.
Southampton Summer Sessions continues this weekend with the following shows:
