Noughties pop-punk band Busted have announced they are headed for a huge headline concert in Somerset next summer.
The trio will be joined by special guests to perform at the picturesque Vivary Park in Taunton on bank holiday Monday 26th August 2024 as part of Live in Somerset’s weekend concert series.
Musicians Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne rose to fame as Busted with the release of their debut single What I Go To School For in 2002. The band then went on to release a number of hit singles such as Crashed The Wedding, Year 3000, Air Hostess and You Said No.
Busted have recently celebrated their 20th anniversary with a sold out nationwide arena tour in September of this year, which saw them perform to a combined audience of over 200,000 people over 26 shows. In the same month, the trio released Greatest Hits 2.0 – a compilation album of greatest hits featuring duets with the likes of James Arthur, The Jonas Brothers, All Time Low, Wheatus, and Mcfly among many more.
The band have sold more than 2 million tickets over the course of multiple sold-out arena tours and have gathered two BRIT awards for Best Pop Act and Best British Breakthrough.
The achievements do not stop there for the group – Charlie recently won popular TV show The Masked Singer as Rhino, whilst James is a renowned songwriter working with the likes of McFly, The Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds of Summer, and The Vamps. Matt, who famously won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2006, has been focusing on his successful television career as well as acting in West End hit 2:22 A Ghost Story.
Claire Kidger, Director of LCC Live – organisers of the Live in Somerset series, commented;
“Busted are one of the most iconic bands of the noughties and we’re so pleased they’ll be joining us for Live in Somerset 2024. They’ve had a busy year celebrating their 20th Anniversary, so we just can’t wait to continue the celebrations of their iconic hits at Vivary Park next August Bank Holiday.”
Tickets for Busted plus their special guests are on sale now from www.ticketline.co.uk or from Taunton’s Visitor Centre on Fore Street.
