Murder, Intrigue, and Scandal: ‘Blood Money’ takes the stage at The Palace Theatre Paignton 24th-27th Sept.

From Tuesday 24th September, to Friday 27th September, Bijou Theatre Productions brings a tantalising tale of deception, betrayal, and cold hard cash to the stage at the Palace Theatre.

Starring a stellar local cast, Blood Money follows TV icon, Mike Mason and his wife Liz, who tried to cover up a hit and run accident which left Carol Mitchell Dead. 7 years later, just as the couple thought they had gotten away with this dark secret, they receive a call from someone claiming to be their murdered victim…

Bijou Theatre Productions started as a private members theatre club in 1955 by a lady called Greta Huggins and was based in a stable at the back of the then Gerston Hotel in Paignton town centre. Since the early days, Bijou Theatre Productions has grown from a 50-seater private club to the thriving production company that we know and love today.

Today, Bijou Theatre Productions is run by an all-woman team with Wendy Caplan and daughter, Sarah working alongside Jill as co-directors. Many Torbay residents will have fond memories of being taught by Wendy and Jill, who were both drama teachers at Paignton School, now known as Paignton Academy. So rest assured that Blood Money will be packed with passion and intrigue, along with Bijou’s signature style of captivating set design and slick direction, that has wowed audiences for decades.

With rehearsals entering their final stages, Director Dan Chambers gave us a sneaky peek of behind the scenes. “From what we are lucky enough to see, we can tell you it is going to be fabulous! Twists and turns galore, this is a night you will not want to miss!”
