Agatha Christie’s
The HOLLOW
Bijou Theatre Productions are really pleased to announce that this year’s Agatha Christie season will be a presentation of THE HOLLOW. This is one of Agatha’s most ingenious plays and has always proved very popular.
An unhappy game of romantic follow-the-leader explodes into murder one weekend at The Hollow - the home of Lord and Lady Angketell - arguably Christies finest comic grande dame. Dr Cristow, a Harley Street Doctor with a wandering eye, is at the centre of the trouble. Assembled in one place are his dull but devoted wife, his mistress and his former lover - a Hollywood film star. Also visiting are Edward and Midge - Edward wants to be romantically involved with one of the women which only clouds the story. As the list of romantic assertions grows so does the list of suspects when a murder takes place. Nearly everyone has a motive but which of the suspects is it?
We are delighted that Jill Farrant is once again directing and we are really pleased that an ex-performer with us, who has her own professional theatre touring company, has agreed to play the film star. We welcome back Sarah Cherry - a local girl made good. Maggie Campbell returns
as the eccentric Lady of the manor and James Mackenzie -Thorpe is to play the inspector. There are too many characters to list here but
we promise you a thrilling evening.
The show runs at the Palace Theatre Paignton, from the 6th June till 27th July, every
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
